How do you train for a destination marathon?

I live in Southern California (in LA near the beach). I am training for my first marathon, but it will be in Hawaii at the end of June. Just curious if there are any tips for training for a marathon that will be at a different altitude or climate than where you live.|||i love to run. i have a 4 minute mile and have run a few marathons. BEACH RUNNING best thing ever. it will help your muscles and your Cardio. run about 1 mile then 2 then 3 etc. go tell you reach your personal limit then sum whenever you can. that will help you in pretty much every area except lung capacity for that try the mountains once a week for increasing lengths if you cant get there that often try working on the beach more. that should do you well. good luck my friend
