Can elite marathon runner listen to music when running in Marathons?

Just wondering if anybody know if elite marathon runners can listen to ipods and other music devices when running in big city marathons like London. It is just that you never see anybody do it. I personally can't run without my Ipod.|||No, they do not listen to music, now most races do not allow runners to listen to ipods or other electronic devices.|||Big races don't allow runners to wear iPods so they'll be able to hear directions/sirens/warnings when they run. We normal people ignore this, but if you're running for prize money or records, you're not going to get DQs so you can listen to "Stronger Faster" while you run.

I don't know if the elites listen to music when training, but I bet there's a heck of an Apple endorsement waiting for them if they do!|||They don't, but I think they should all be listening to "Go The Distance" from the Rocky soundtrack!

Now that would be inspiration!|||Serious runners don't need music. So no.|||They can but they dont.|||Didn't see any elite runners with them , they so focused and professional,

i was running today ,i was pleased with my time 3hr 9 min
